COSMO BACHELOR BASH 2012: COSMO MEN UNITE

The hottest and grandest that earned popularity among women and beckis happened yesterday at the Exhibit Hall of the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.

Of course, as one of my bucket list of things that I will do this year is to attend the premiere show. COSMOPOLITAN PHILIPPINES presented the COSMO BACHELOR BASH 2012: COSMO MEN UNITE featuring the most eligible, sexy, and handsome men in town. The show was made possible by Guess, San Miguel Light, Century Tuna, Carrera, Lick Condoms, and Betadine Feminine Wash with special thanks to Mac - the show's official make-up.

The Checklist.
The show started with Menchu Antigua aka DJ Scarlet of 99.5 RT. Her checklist - the smile, chest, abs, hipbone checklist made the crowd wild. Then series of thank yous for the sponsors. Finally, the curtains rolled up and the Carrera models started the show that makes the whole WWCMM scream and shout.

Booths are set-up also on the sides of the back (Century Tuna Military Camp, Betadine Candy Camp etc.) for the girls, becks, and some unfortunate boyfriends to enjoy. I know you want the photos and not my words and commentaries so here you go. ENJOY the MEN! (Photos by Jeffrey Guarino ©2012)

The crowd went wild, steamy hot, and sweaty as we are near the Cosmo Centerfolds. You can continuously heard the shouts, shrieks, scream all over the place. The World Trade Center at the heart of Pasay get 10° C hotter as the night comes to an end. But not yet. Another set of model and celebrity photos for your enjoyment.

The kid is now a full grown-up. Arron Villaflor

Now the centerfold will be revealed next. And another round of craziness from the audience. Unfortunately, the top and most important figure behind this year Centerfold was nowhere to be seen. He is miles away and currently taping the ABS-CBN teleserye Walang Hanggan in America. [Honestly, he was one of my favorite if not my most favorite.]

Top favorites for that night who received the loudest praises and shouts from the audience were James Blanco, Anton del Rosario, Tom Rodriguez, Jose Sarasola, JC Tiuseco, James Younghusband, Fabio Ide, Daniel Matsunaga and among the centerfolds were Joseph Marco, Alden Richards, Mikael Daez, John Spainhour, and the loudest [or did I hear myself that moment?] - Markki Stroem which is the most daring among 10 men. World Trade Center was on fire when he took up the wet towel revealing himself in a sexy underwear [or is it speedo?].

My favorite tonight - Markki Stroem
The last sexy stunt - Mikael Daez
The less popular Centerfold - Ian Batherson
Another hunk I loved - John Spainhour
The final show - Alden Richards

I wasn't able to finish the show. After Alden walked, we immediately left the place and headed home [may pasok pa kinabukasan]. My legs are so tired that I literally dragged myself going home.

It's an obvious success [regardless of controversies] for the 15th Cosmo Bachelor Bash but opinions will be different of course. Though, previous years of Bachelor Bash [in my perspective] are more hotter than this one.

Lets end this with the cons of the show. Every show has a room for improvement, well in this case a few rooms for improvements preparing for the Bachelor Bash next year. First, the show was disorganized. I don't know if they really anticipate the volume of people given that tickets are per invitation and promo basis only or they came short and unprepared because their attention was on the other side of the show - models, celebrities, VIPs. I said it is disorganized because of the mishandling of the public. The dissemination of information regarding the show was very limited. No time given for when the gates will be opened, no proper arrangement of where people will fall in line etc. - which I believed should be planned ahead as this is already the 15th time that they will organize the Cosmo Bachelor Bash. As the night go on and every soul inside the hall is having fun, there are poor people - regular, VIPs, media alike, were not able to enter the venue because it is already jam-packed. What happened? Every venue has a "MAXIMUM" capacity and to overprint tickets beyond the max capacity is a big NO-NO.

Second on the cons list - queue. This was the longest queue I ever experienced attending a show which was really nerve-breaking. The ticket said that the show will start at 7:00pm so normally doors will open two hours before the show in order for the guests to settle down first and familiarize themselves at the venue. On the other hand, this will give the people ample time to roam around the booths of their sponsors and have a short picture taking moments with the boys. But this was the MAJOR FAIL - literally an "EPIC FAIL" for Cosmopolitan and their event organizers. The doors opened at 8:30pm which is beyond the announced event  time. Imagine, I was there around 05:30pm and suffered 3 hours of waiting among long lines of people already irritated and disappointed. One of the guests I've heard said -"They should prioritize guests from public who bought their magazines because the sales generated from Cosmopolitan came from us. We are grateful that they created the event for Cosmopolitan supporters and readers, but they should have the sense of gratitude of not making their guests wait so long."

Honestly? Point taken. Cosmopolitan generated their sales and popularity not solely because of the VIPs they are ushering in towards the venue but from the people who have undying support to their magazine. With this sense, it is only proper not to waste the public's effort to attend the show. Okay lets speculate here why the show started 9:30pm. Yes you heard it right, the curtains opened around 9:30 in the evening when you expect it to be 7:00pm or at maximum 8:00pm. Why the show took so long to start? Is it the rehearsals? Is it the VIPs coming late? Or is it something technical? First rehearsals should be early.....as in EARLY and needless to say methodological. If it is the VIPs......all will shout in UNISON, that's for sure - WHO CARES? Being a VIP doesn't entitled you to be late and made a grand entrance for the annoyance of the public. The show can start and must start even without them. I think punctuality can be learned in any school nowadays. It is a part of forming good and better personality. In addition, being a VIP doesn't grant you to bring people who are not allowed [and have no passes to be] inside.

With all the cons at hand, if I will be the event organizer or the Summit Media itself, I will utter a simple and empathetic apology [which they did partially - visit http://www.facebook.com/Cosmopolitan.ph] to all the people in general that waited too long - a true corporate responsibility to those fans with unwavering support for them.

Lets learned from what happened and expect that Cosmopolitan Philippines and Summit Media will come up with better events committee next year - those with great competency in organizing a big event like this and foresee unfavorable situations that may tarnish the event and their name. I had fun - that is the truth. Will I come next year even with the cons of this year's event? Yes, I will - DEFINITELY.

So overall score for this event - 2.7 out of 5 stars
CRITERIA:
    Reception - 1
