REKINDLE THE JOY: Inside the Starbucks Planner 2013

Yesterday, I am very excited going to Starbucks – RCBC Plaza to grab my Grande Hot Toffee Nut Latte (NF, NWC, LSy). Why? Because it is not only a usual coffee day, I will also claim my Starbucks Planner after two weeks of drinking Starbucks calories I mean beverages daily and accumulating 19 stickers in total [because I got two cards combined]. Honestly, I didn't drink the whole 19 drinks, just the 7 Christmas Drinks and let my friends fill the rest. So treasure your friends the most as they are truly present in great time of needs (laughs). Talking about a coffee party. :D Hooray! Two in a row. Moments later, I already claimed my Starbucks Planner Black 2013 Edition. After work, I grab my camera and lens and starting capturing my new planner at different angles. This will be my official review of this year’s #STARBUCKSPLANNER2013.

This year they bring the old dimensions back. It is now an eight-inch hard bound leather covered planner once again. The front is decorated with Starbucks Logo on the upper right and just underneath is the year “2013; while the left pane have this random stars I think. I love the black one because it is very formal, executive type, which blends well with office and business people like me. The green one is very student-type and those with vibrant personalities and the white is for the neat & clean, ladies, and “beckies” alike. The planner is locked by a magnet which is very cool and the bookmark is cooler [which is my favorite by the way] – it is a classic Starbucks cup magnet. :D The big notebook looks like a refillable one like the usual college binders, though I can’t be sure. It might just be a design since the front cover is for 2013 only.

 Okay now here the first page after the brown page (laughs). This will  truly make it yours if you are that proprietary – “This yearly planner belongs to”: ________”. The next pages contains the usual artistic cover with this year’s citation from Howard Schultz (Chairman and CEO, Starbucks) – “Humanity is the core of everything we do.” The usual two-year (2013 and 2014) calendar view [is there too] and the next year’s HOLIDAYS in the subsequent page.

The succeeding pages contains the days separated by an All-about-Starbucks Cover with several quotations. The days page is wide enough for you to write down several appointments, gatherings, and meetings in one day.  Each day is separated with a borderline with a bold date and day to act as indicators. The below right section of every page contains the current Month and Year on the right and the current and next Month view on the left.  There is also a footnote (left south portion of the days view) where you can put important  details of your week’s meetings and activities if the space aren't enough designed with a glowing Starbucks cup.

The monthly front cover is my second favorite as it was full of arts and moments – particularly March, May, July, and December whereas you can put your Summer Where-to-go-list, best moment so far, “Just Wanted to Say”, and your Wish list respectively. Unlike last year wherein the page starts at December 2011 (it contains 13 months in total), the STARBUCKS PLANNER 2013 is on a 12-month Calendar Year format – which is not a problem at all. Though I still prefer the 13-month format. The last section of the much-awaited planner is the “NOTES”. Everything you want to write – make it a journal, diary, resolution corner, contact #s page, so be it. The section is a great add-on for this year for people who loves to write like me – I might put my blog list (things I want to write) in that portion. The last page is where the coupons are enveloped – which can be consumed one/month. The good thing about this coupon is when you back-flipped it there are cute messages such as “YOU DESERVE A BREAK”, “LET’S GET TOGETHER”, “LET’S CELEBRATE THIS SUMMER” etc. In addition to the usual ten coupons, there are additional three long duration coupons which is valid from January 1 to October 31 next year. Among the coupons, I love the “free double upsize” (January promo) and the two complimentary add-ons (March coupon).

Overall, the Rekindle the Joy: STARBUCKS PLANNER 2013 promo is so much better than the last year. The only problem with this is it is bulky and for some who do not like Christmas drinks, you need to forced yourselves drinking it (like me!!!) Though, I would recommend that you drink the Christmas beverage up to your taste! You could always make your own cup. If you want a cup of hot coffee which resembles your all-time favourite White Chocolate Mocha, just ask your barista for a less toffee syrup. For health conscious individuals, remove the  whipped cream, make it non-fat (or soya if you prefer) and lessen the toffee syrup. Don’t remove the nuts since it is healthy somehow. For stronger coffee, asked another shot and less the toffee syrup. If you are allergic to nuts then remove the nuts. Presto! You still get to enjoy your caffeine day without destroying your routine.
